The General Insurance Council had organised a Marine Insurance Market Conference on the theme – “Marine Insurance in India Circumstances, Chances and Challenges” on the 18th May, 2017 at the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai, in association with the IUMI (The International Union of Marine Insurance).
The Executive Committee Members of the IUMI had also participated in the Conference and updated the Indian Market on the international scenario.
The IUMI is a professional body which is run by and for its Members. IUMI represents national and international marine Insurers and considers issues of interest to the worldwide insurance industry.
The select audience comprised of special invitees from various sectors represented by their senior executives. Officials from the Shipping Ministry, Mumbai Port Trust, JNPT, SCI and several other industries had attended the conference, in addition to many experts drawn from Insurers, Insurance Brokers, legal experts and Surveyors.
From amongst the Insurance Brokers, Mr SK Rustagi, Managing Director and Mr PSK Rao, Executive Director of Beacon Insurance Brokers, were also extended an invitation and they both had attended the said prestigious Conference.
The Director General, Shipping and Ports was the Chief Guest and the Member (Non Life) of IRDAI was the Guest of Honour. The CMD Of The New India Assurance Company presided over the Panel Discussions as the Moderator.
