As an effort to keep you updated about your insured sea voyage, we would like to inform you about one more ship accident in which the reports have been received PANAMA flagged vessel EFES suffered a fire while underway in the Bay of Bengal, On August 19, at around 540 nautical miles east of Chennai.
Since the time of the incident the vessel was adrift but was subsequently taken under tow. The vessel is now about 350nm from Port Klang (Malasia) and is being towed in that direction. General Average has been declared.
The Marine Traffic data show the vessel is partially laden and departed from VISAKHAPATNAM, India, on August 17 en-route to Port KLANG, Malaysia
