“Vessel Casualty Report gives details of vessels which have met with some casualty while carrying cargo from one Port to another and which may have resulted in (i) loss/damage to the cargo carried in the vessel or (ii) General Average Loss/Expenditure.
Please go through the Casualty Report and check whether your cargo had been carried in any of the vessels mentioned therein and check with your Cargo Handling Agents whether there is any loss/damage to your cargo. If yes, we can help you in arranging survey and doing other formalities related to the Insurance Claim.
Even if there is no loss/damage to your cargo, there may be a General Average Loss/Expenditure incurred by other Cargo Owners /Shipping Co. for which the Shipping Company may send you notice demanding your share of loss. Similarly, in case your cargo is part of the General Average Loss, you need to recover the loss. In such events also, we can help you in completing the Insurance formalities”.

“ADLER” – IMO:9179854 – Flag: Russia – Type: Cargo Ship
On December 7, the ‘Adler’ en route from New Tuticorin to Novorosisysk suffered an engine failure at Anadolu Kavagi Point in the Istanbul Strait and drifted towards the shore. A coastal safety tug and technical team attended to provide assistance for the vessel and the Strait traffic safety. The vessel was shifted to the Büyükdere Anchorage under the supervision of the coastal safety teams. The transit passage permission was temporarily cancelled by the Strait authority until the completion of repairs which were commenced by the crew.
“GLOVIS MAESTRO” – IMO:9610987 – Flag: Singapore – Type: Cargo Ship
On December 4, the ‘Glovis Maestro’, coming from Alexandria, suffered auxiliary engine problems. The ship was subsequently towed to Gibraltar and berthed at the Detached Mole, where it was currently undergoing repairs.
“NAVIOS CENTAURUS” – IMO:9590072 – Flag: Panama – Type: Cargo Ship
On December 6, the ‘Navios Centaurus’ was disabled and adrift in position 48 37 41 N, 062 28 37.5 W, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence 80 miles east of Gaspe, Quebec. A defective cooling system was found to have been the cause of the loss of propulsion, and the vessel regained speed after repairs. The ship had sailed from Quebec on December 4 and was bound to Cartagena with an ETA as of December 15, 1 p.m

“KARKLOE” – IMO:9518995 – Flag: Liberia Type: Cargo Ship
On December 4, the ‘Karkloe’, en route from Södertalie to Nouadhibou went adrift 40 miles south-southeast of Lizard Point, after the engines stopped working due to a pitch issue. The vessel was drifting at a speed of 0,85 knots in north-northwest winds. The vessel was taken in tow by the tug ‘TSM Kermor’ (IMO: 9712412) at 3 a.m. on Dec 5. On Dec 7 at 7.45 a.m. the ship was moored 12 miles off Paimpol in pos. 48 46 48 N, 02 44 54 W. The tug ‘Argonaute’ (IMO: 9269518), destined to Baie Saint Brieuc, was on standby as of Dec 9 with the ‘ISM Kermor’ also moored in a distance.
