“Vessel Casualty Report gives details of vessels which have met with some casualty while carrying cargo from one Port to another and which may have resulted in (i) loss/damage to the cargo carried in the vessel or (ii) General Average Loss/Expenditure.
Please go through the Casualty Report and check whether your cargo had been carried in any of the vessels mentioned therein and check with your Cargo Handling Agents whether there is any loss/damage to your cargo. If yes, we can help you in arranging survey and doing other formalities related to the Insurance Claim.
Even if there is no loss/damage to your cargo, there may be a General Average Loss/Expenditure incurred by other Cargo Owners /Shipping Co. for which the Shipping Company may send you notice demanding your share of loss. Similarly, in case your cargo is part of the General Average Loss, you need to recover the loss. In such events also, we can help you in completing the Insurance formalities”.

“YONG AN LUN” – Callsign
On July 15, the “Shun Qiang 2” collided with the Chinese “Yong An Lun” close to Shanghai and sank. Three crew members were rescued, 10 more missing. The “Shun Qiang 2” was enroute from Nanjing to Guangzhou when the accident occurred. The ship’s load consisted of 3,000 tonnes of steel rods. “BLUE MOON” – IMO:8113293 – Flag: Togo – Type: General Cargo Ship
On July 11, the “Blue Moon”, en route from Nika Tera to Tripoli, suffered engine failure at Sarayburnu point in the Istanbul Strait. Subsequently, the vessel drifted dangerously to shore. A Coastal Safety tug and a technical team immediately attended to provide assistance to the vessel and also to ensure Strait traffic safety. The ship has been secured and towed from incident location to an anchorage area. The vessel departure permission has beencancelled by the Strait authority, until completion of permanent repairs. A fine has been imposed on vessel due to the breach of the safe strait passage regulation.

“SILVER COPENHAGEN” – IMO:9143386 – Flag: Norway – Type: General Cargo Ship
On July 13, the “Mirakh”allided with the reefer “Silver Copenhagen” off Western Spitsbergen. The incident occurred while unmooring in the Bellsound Bay after unloading fish products. The “Mirakh” hit the starboard side of the “Silver Copenhagen” with its port sie bow. Both ships received minor damage, but no leaks or injuries were reported. The “Mirakh” berthed in Kirkenes on July 14 at 8.45 a.m., the “Silver Copenhagen” headed to Murmansk, ETA July 16.
“DINA TRADER” – IMO:9354442 – Flag: Gibraltar – Type: Container Ship
On July 14, the “Dina Trader” contacted the CROSS Corsen after having suffered a power loss. The ship, coming from Brest and bound for Dunkirk, had 12 crew members onboard, and was eight nautical miles southwest of Pointe Saint-Mathieu. It had a sufficient propulsion capacity left to counter the current. Because of the proximity of the coast, and the potential danger for navigation and for the coast, the emergency tug “Abeille Bourbon” was deployed from Brest around 4:30 p.m. and reached the ship at 6:15 p.m. After the crew was unable to repair the damage, the tug was contracted by the owner to pull the “Dina Trader” back to Brest. At 6.30 p.m. a towing connection was established. The ships arrived in port at 11.10 p.m. and the container ship was safely berthed in the commercial port.
