“Vessel Casualty Report gives details of vessels which have met with some casualty while carrying cargo from one Port to another and which may have resulted in (i) loss/damage to the cargo carried in the vessel or (ii) General Average Loss/Expenditure.
Please go through the Casualty Report and check whether your cargo had been carried in any of the vessels mentioned therein and check with your Cargo Handling Agents whether there is any loss/damage to your cargo. If yes, we can help you in arranging survey and doing other formalities related to the Insurance Claim.
Even if there is no loss/damage to your cargo, there may be a General Average Loss/Expenditure incurred by other Cargo Owners /Shipping Co. for which the Shipping Company may send you notice demanding your share of loss. Similarly, in case your cargo is part of the General Average Loss, you need to recover the loss. In such events also, we can help you in completing the Insurance formalities”.

“CSC ZHI HAI” – IMO:9628697 – Flag: General Cargo Ship – Type: Hong Kong
On July 19, a fire broke out in the cargo hold of the “CSC Zhi Hai”, which had was berthed at Changshu port, Shanghai. The paper pulp cargo inflated. The CO2 system was activated. Because of the dangerous character of the cargo the crew and terminal staff were evacuated and a safety zone established. An emergency team was waiting until the hull had cooled down.
“KAPITAN YAKOVLEV” – IMO:9077575 – Flag: Russia – Type: General Cargo Ship
On July 19, the “Kapitan Yakovlev” ran aground on Kronshtadt anchorage off St. Petersburg, while approaching the Moby Dick Cargo Terminal in Kronshtadt, with 4.200 tons of steel on board. The ship was refloated one hour later with the assistance of the tug “Litke” and safely berthed. No damages, no leak reported.

“ELBCARRIER” – IMO:9388510 – Flag: Cyprus – Type: Container Ship
On July 18, the “Elbcarrier”, en route from Dublin to Rotterdam, was reported as not under command while carrying out engine maintenance. The crew stated it would take one hour to repair the vessel. The ship was carrying 3265 tonnes of containers and finally arrived in the Prins Willem Alexander Port of Rotterdam on July 19.
“MYRTE” – IMO:9364136 – Flag: General Cargo Ship – Type: Netherlands
On July 19, enroute from Tornio to Ghent the “Myrte” ran aground off Sluiskil, after it veered off course on the Gent -Terneuzen -Canal. After it was refloated about half an hour later, it berthed in the coal port of Ghent at 10.45 a.m.
