Certain Measurements Should Be Taken Immediately On The Occurance Of Loss

  • Take photos and videos with date & time stamping of all damaged items in their condition and with a water level mark.
  • If water recedes, do not clean the premises/water level mark until inspection by the surveyor.
  • If possible, take steps to minimize further damage and record every activity with photos and videos to prove your actions taken.
  • If any electrical/electronic apparatus/appliances/panels are submerged in water or have wet damage, do not start them before proper cleaning and/or inspection by the competent person to avoid the possibility of short-circuiting and further damage.
  • Inform us immediately for further intimation to the insurance company for the appointment of a surveyor for inspection of loss/damages.
  • Prepare a list of affected items with the extent of damage and tentative loss amount (if ascertainable) for verification by the surveyor.
  • Do not dispose of the damaged items unless inspected and approved by the surveyor and keep them in your safe custody.
  • If the vehicle is submerged in water till the engine level, do not try to start the same as it will lead to damage to the hydrostatic lock/engine/piston, which are not payable unless the engine protection cover is opted.
