“ALBANY” –  IMO:8721404 – Flag: Panama – Type: General Cargo Ship
On April 21, the “Albany”, en route from Nemrut Bay to Azov suffered a technical failure, during its passage of the Istanbul Strait and dropped anchor at Karanlik Liman. The passage permission was temporarily cancelled by the strait authority until completition of permanent repairs. On April 23 the ship was underway again with an ETA as of April 28.

On April 21, only short time after the “Rauli N” allided with the wall of the large southern lock in Brunsbüttel, the “Geert K”, enroute from Puerto Marin to Szczecin, allided with the small southern lock at 3.50 p.m. The ship was caught by the outgoing tide and was drifted against the steel tail fin of the gate which suffered slight damage as well as the cargo ship which was allowed to continue the voyage at 5.15 p.m. and berthed in Szczecin on April 22.

BAKAR” – IMO:9066411 – Flag: Russia – Type: Tanker
On April 19, the “Bakar” was in collision with a floating ice floe in the Strait of La Perouse. The vessel which was in ballast sustained damage to the hull in the area of the bulbous bow and suffered water ingress in the forepeak area. The vessel increased the trim to the stern and the water ingress in the forepeak was stemmed. It then continued its passage from Vladivostok to Nakhodka. On April 21, it berthed at the Nakhodka Shipyard.

“WERCHINA” – Callsign:PE8472 – Flag: Netherlands – Type: General Cargo Ship
On April 19, a fire broke out in the engine room of the “Werchina”, which was berthed at an overnight jetty in Ijzendoorn upon the Waal. The fire brigade from Ochten was first on scene and joined by a fire boat from Tiel short time later. Due to the fast response damage by fire and water could be limited to the engine room.
